She’s crafty

Hello friends,

Allow me to introduce you to my first contributor – Mrs. Megan Miller!

This girl, who also happens to be a bestie of mine, is wow-amazing with the crafts, baking, party planning – you name it. So… I thought it would be fun if she wrote up a seasonal article to share some of her tips with you all here on the Two Betties.

Planning to host a Halloween get together this weekend? Well check out what our crafty friend has to say about wow-ing your guests with this fun recipe.

Take it away Megan ….

I remember loving Halloween as a kid and even more so as a party-going 21-year-old! It was the perfect opportunity for us girls to dress as sexy as we like and get away with it! Mini skirt, bustier and fairy wings? PERFECT!

But what happens to those once cherished holidays when we lose the urge to prance around bar to bar with blisters on our feet looking like a 2-cent hooker on Sunset Blvd? Bring it indoors of course! You can still be sexy AND have a good time sans the vomit covered dive bar and raunchy night clubs.

Smoking Drinks, Themed Appetizers and Awesome music? Yes please! Check out my smokin’ drink recipe … perfect for your KILLER Halloween party! Enjoy ~MM

Witches Brew

  • Cinnamon and sugar for rimming glass
  • 5 tablespoons vodka
  • 5 tablespoons sour-apple schnapps
  • 5 tablespoons lemonade
  • 5 tablespoons lemon-lime soda (such as 7-Up or Sprite)

Directions

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine vodka, schnapps, lemonade and lemon-lime soda. Cover and shake vigorously. Dip rim edge of martini glasses in a shallow dish with 1/4-inch water, then in a shallow dish with 1/4-inch of equal parts sugar and cinnamon mixture. Strain shaken mixture into prepared glasses Place a few small pieces of dry ice right before you serve to start the smoke

IMPORTANT NOTE: Storing dry ice (Even in the freezer) will not keep for more than 8 hours. Therefore plan on purchasing only what is needed and using it right away.

Stay tuned for more of she’s crafty this winter!
